Three people were injured during an early morning two-vehicle crash that required one to be extricated.
The crash took place around 12:20 a.m. Thursday in the area of the Duchess Restaurant on Mill Plain Road, said Danbury Fire Department Spokesman James Gagliardo.
First arriving police units found three people injured with one victim entrapped in a vehicle, he said.
Danbury Police said a preliminary investigation indicates that Juan Antonio Pacheo, 26, of Pound Ridge, was driving a Ford F250 when he hit a Mercedes-Benz C63 sedan driven by Catriona O'Hagan, 29, of Derry Northern Ireland, said Det. Lt. Mark Williams of the Danbury Police Department.
O’Hagen and her passenger were traveling west when Pacheco, who was traveling eastbound, crossed over the double yellow lines into the westbound lane and the cars collided.
Firefighters and EMS began treating the injured as members of Engine 26 extricated the entrapped person and placed them into the care of Danbury EMS units, Gagliardo said.
Pacheco, O’Hagan and O’Hagan’s passenger were all transported to Danbury Hospital for injuries sustained in the collision.
Danbury Fire Deputy Chief Bernie Meehan was the incident commander and fire units remained on the scene assisting the police department until approximately 2 a.m.
The collision is being investigated by the Danbury Police Department’s Traffic Division, which is requesting anyone who witnessed or has information regarding the collision to please contact Sgt. Rory DeRocco or Officer Matthew Malone at 203-797-2157.
